The students that sat in the gymnasium bleachers that day looked bored. Most of them showed no emotion even though two of their classmates had been taken by death. The truth was most of the kids there had never really known the two that had died, they had been nobodies. But now that they were gone the students finally realized how terribly they had treated the two.
In the crown of guilty students however, sat the deceased's group of friends. These students had tears covering their cheeks. These few students knew who the two had been and were filled to the brink with sorrow. None of them had wanted to believe that they would never see their two friends again.
"I just can't believe they are really gone." The boy named CC said to his friends while wiping some of the tears from his face.
"I know what you mean buddy. We're never going to hear Ashley being a pervert again." Jake replied wiping away some of his own tears and patting CC on the shoulder.
"Or hear Andy and Ashley be all lovey to each other." Jinxx said making a disgusted face and making his friends laugh for the first time since they had heard about their friends.
"We will never have to pull a cigarette out of Andy's hand." Sandra said to the boys while trying to wipe some on her running makeup from her face.
"Andy won't ever tell us about his dream band again." CC said. The group frowned. In all truth it hadn't only been Andy's dream band; they had all began to dream about it.
"Andy won't ever cuss Ashley out for staring at some chicks boobs." Jake said.
Once again they all laughed. Inside they knew they needed this time but wished it didn't have to happen with the whole school.
"We won't ever hear Ashley cuss out Andy for staring at some dudes dick either." Sandra said with an uncomfortable laugh.
The guys of the group looked at each other with smirks on their faces.
"What?" Sandra asked feeling confused.
"Do you guys remember when that happened in the middle of Hot Topic?" Jake asked his friends. "Ash didn't even care that the whole store had heard him."
"Just shows how much Ash did care about Andy." CC replied with a sigh.
Finally the whole school was sitting in the bleachers of the gym and their principle grabbed the mic.
He cleared his throat. "Today we mourn the loss of Andrew Biersack and Ashley Purdy. The two met their fate in a car wreck last week when a drunk driver swerved into their lane abruptly and collided with the boys' car head on. Andrew and Ashley were not the only ones in this crash, but they are the only two that were taken from this world. I understand that many of you were not extremely close to Mr. Biersack and Mr. Purdy, but we will all sit here and listen to their friends talk about the people they were." The principle paused and looked to where CC, Jake, Jinxx, and Sandra sat. "Whoever would like to talk first may come down and talk."
All of the friends stood up and made their way down the bleachers. Losing someone close was too hard to do on their own, so they figured they weren't going to talk about them alone either.
Their principle game the mic to CC and walked to the middle of the gym where a slide show of the boys would be projected while their friends talked.
CC looked at the crowd nervously. "Um, well, I knew that most of you didn't know Andy or Ashley very well. You've probably all had conversations or run-ins with them at some point but didn't really know them. A lot of you probably hated them or were disgusted by them. Some of you will probably die one day knowing that you bullied one of them, but I'll tell you now they never really made a big deal about being bulled. They figured you had a good reason for it; Andy's favorite was you were homophobic. Anytime he got bullied for being gay he would tell us about it and then say you know they were just homophobic. But come on, who's afraid of gay people? And he always said it with a laugh, like it was a joke." CC said and gave the mic to Jake.
"Those two were great guys," he said. "They loved to have fun and they really cared about other people. Andy or Ashley could be having a super crappy day but if you were upset Andy always had time to listen to you and Ashley always had some lame joke that would make you smile no matter what was going on in your life.
"I remember one time I had just been dumped by my girlfriend who had been cheating on me. She had been my girlfriend for almost three years and I had really loved her. When she dumped me and told me she had been with a different guy for almost two years, I was crushed. I didn't want to talk to anyone but as soon as Ashley found out he came up to me and asked what happened. Since I didn't have to tell him we broke up, didn't have to hear it come from my own mouth, I figured telling him why wouldn't be too hard so I told him. When I was done, he was grinning. I was so pissed that I blew up but he just started laughing. I asked him what was so funny and he said, hey man we all knew she was jiffy. All I could do was stare at him, and he just started laughing harder. Somehow he managed to say, you know she spreads easy. At first I found it harsh but when I thought of what she had done to me I laughed as hard as he had." Jake finished saying with a laugh and gave the mic to Jinxx.
"Well I guess I'll continue on with what Jake said about Andy. Sometimes, yes I mean sometimes, he cared more about others than he did himself. Then he had times when he would act like a spoiled bitch." Jinxx said and everyone laughed. "But those times don't matter. One time Andy and Ashley had just had a big fight and Andy had been reduced to tears and I walked in, we were all living together at the time, and I was pissed. Andy had eyeliner running down his cheeks, tears were still flowing steadily from his eyes, and his eyes were red and puffy, but when I walked in and slammed the door he told me to sit down and tell him what happened. I hadn't realized he was there but once I saw his face I tried to get him to tell me what was wrong with him. He refused. Every time I asked he said it didn't matter and would ask me what was wrong. I finally told him and he seemed happier after that. I don't know if it was because he had been distracted or because he really cared more about me but I really wish that I had told him thank you."
From hearing Jinxx's story some of the people in the crowd had started showing emotion. They had had no clue that the kid that they had snickered at or bullied had been so nice.
Jinxx handed the mic to Sandra who was the last one that would speak. "Okay so you all, or most of you at lease, know that Andy was gay and Ashley was bisexual. And most of you probably wanted to leave as soon as you got in here because you think that who they were is so wrong. I'll warn you now if you plan on dissing them or rolling your eyes at what I'm going to say, you need to leave. And I mean now. I'm not putting up with you homophobic assholes ruining this."
The teachers gasped at her. The others had sworn yes but not directly at the people in the crowd. Sandra thought it was a good thing that she was doing this, otherwise she guesses she would have had some detention to look forward to.
Nobody got up so Sandra continued. "Andy and Ashley were the cutest couple I have ever seen. They would joke around with each other in a kind of way that most people feel is crossing the line. And you have to admit it, together they looked pretty hot."
Sandra looked around at the students. To her surprise, and everyone else's, some of the girls were agreeing with her.
"Andy and Ashley picked on each other a lot. And I guess it wasn't really picking it was just joking back and forth. They did some naughty things in class, no probably not what you are thinking, and they've done some things in store, still probably not what you are thinking. If you talked to them once you would know that Ashley was a true pervert and Andy was a little more reserved. But if you got to know them you would have noticed how much they really cared about each other. Behind the joking about looking down girls' shirts and staring at guys' dicks, there was real concern. Neither of them wanted to find out the other had cheated. I don't think they knew that though, otherwise they probably wouldn't have worried as much.
"But anyway, I remember one day, and keep in mind that no matter how perverted he was or how guilty of looking down girls' shirts he was, Ashley worried the most about Andy finding someone else. Ashley was convinced Andy deserved better. But I remember one day we had gone to the mall as a group. We had gone into the music shop because all of us needed something, well except Andy. So while everyone else was grabbing what they needed Andy stood at the desk looking at the different bands that were advertised. I only heard what happened from the two of them but while Andy was standing there the worker started talking to him and Andy well stared a little low. Ashley saw and he pretty much broke, well internally anyway. Ash walked up to them and told Andy his dick was bigger than the guys' he was looking at was. Andy blushed and life went on. Andy didn't suspect anything because they did that all the time. And Ashley was great at hiding his emotions, but I could tell behind his grin lurked something darker. When I asked him about it later on he broke. He sobbed into his hands that he knew Andy deserved somebody, anybody, better than him. He said sometimes he just wanted to end it so he never had to hear Andy do it, but he couldn't.
"That day right after Ashley finished explaining Andy burst into the room crying tears of his own. He had gone in there looking to find refuge in Ashley's arms, but they ended up finding refuge in each other."
Sandra walked over to the principle and gave him the mic. Before letting go of it though, she put her hand over the top of it. "Sir, can I put up a picture before we leave?"
The principle nodded and she let go, rushing over to the computer.
"Thank you for giving us all insight on Andrew and Ashley. We all appreciated it. Right after Sandra gets," the crowd gasped and the principle looked behind him.
Projected onto the screen was a picture of Andy and Ashley. They were at the park sitting on a blanket under a tree. Ashley had one arm wrapped around Andy, who was sitting between his legs, and the other stretched out to take the picture. Andy's head was resting on Ashley's shoulder and both boys had smiles on their faces and were looking at each other with love filled eyes.
If anything really showed who the boys the school had lost were, this picture showed it all. This picture really drove home the sadness everyone was feeling, no matter if they had known the boys or now. Learning about who they had been had hurt them all.
So together now the whole school could mourn their loss of Andy Biersack and Ashley Purdy. But their friends knew no matter what the boys had died together and would be together for all eternity.
Okie dokie sooo the name came from the wonderful Auntie Heather who wrote the Chronicles of Vladimir Tod. I have no clue where the idea came from, I swear that I have read a book or something where someone dies and they have a big thing at school about it but I couldnt think of what it could be. Literally this took me all day to write, mainly because I kept getting stuck so I took breaks. But this took forever! And Ive had it written for awhile and since we had a snow day today I got to type it! Yay!
This is sort of an Andley but its more that their friends are just remembering who they were. So it isnt really an Andley but at the same time it is. Weeeiiirrrddd.
Thanks for reading, comments, faves, all those lovely things would be awesomeness but only if you love the story or find something that you want to comment about. So in other words no pressure :D
